  • Product Description
    ThermShield 1229 is a knitted fabric developed for insulation of high temperature exhaust systems. Designed with basalt yarns, ThermShield 1229 can withstand temperatures up to +750ºC (+1382ºF).

    The high degree of insulation provided by ThermShield 1229 enables exhaust gas to maintain temperature as it moves through the exhaust system. Maintenance of exhaust gas temperature is important in order to ensure complete conversion of exhaust gas and particulates. Complete conversion is necessary to meet the increasingly strict emission regulations set in place by government mandate.

    With a highly customizable design, ThermShield 1229 can be tailored to increase durability and expandability, contour around bends, accommodate brackets/breakouts/sensors/etc., and have distinct areas of variable performance.
    ThermShield 1229’s customized designs are available with snaps for increased installation benefit.
